Justice for Six Siblings Sexually Abused by Foster Parents in the 1960s

J.S. et al v. State of Washington. After decades of suffering in silence, six brave siblings came forward to recount the horrific sexual abuse they each suffered while in foster care during the 1960s. After nearly 30 years, these six siblings finally obtained civil justice for the State of Washington’s repeated failure to monitor and protect them while in foster care. It is never too late for justice.

CPS Failed to Protect Six Young Children

V.C. et al v. State of Washington. A lawsuit involving the highly preventable torture and abuse of six young children. Washington State’s Child Protective Services repeatedly failed to investigate reports of physical abuse in the home and the result was the horrific physical abuse, torture, and neglect of six children.

$1.5 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Student Sexually Abused by Teacher

R.B. v. Puyallup School District. From 7th-12th grade, a young boy was repeatedly groomed and sexually abused by a Puyallup School teacher. The warning signs were everywhere, but time and again, mandatory reporters failed to take action to protect R.B. and other boys from this predator teacher. Over 15 years later, R.B. bravely came forward to recount systematic failures of the District to protect him, and the resulting abuse he suffered. R.B. gave other men the courage to come forward and recount their own painful history of abuse by the same teacher.
